The Punjab government has announced that public sector employees will get their salaries in advance before Eid-ul-Azha 2024.

On the direction of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, this decision aims to provide financial relief to government employees during festivals.

The Finance Department has started preparations to ensure that salaries are paid by June 13, 2024. The move is expected to ease the financial burden on employees, allowing them to meet their Eid expenses amid rising inflation.

Eid al-Adha, one of the most important Islamic festivals, is the ritual of animal sacrifice, commemorating Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son in obedience to Allah.

Traditionally, Muslims buy goats, sheep, cows, and camels for sacrifice. Special markets have been set up to sell these animals, where buyers carefully select healthy specimens that meet religious standards.

The sacrificial meat is divided into three parts: one part for the family, another for relatives and friends, and the third part for the poor, emphasizing the values ​​of charity and community.

According to the official holiday calendar 2024, the Eid al-Adha holidays double salary are scheduled from June 17 to 19.

Since government offices are usually closed on weekends (Saturday and Sunday), the Eid holidays will effectively begin on June 15.
